The NASA Space Research Agency has always worked to share all discovered space information, whether via the Internet or satellite channels, but this time NASA thought of involving people for free in helping and working to discover new celestial bodies through the Expoplanet Watch program.

Exoplanet Watch is a NASA science project sponsored by NASA's Universe of Learning that allows anyone and everyone to learn about and participate in observing planets that orbit stars beyond our solar system.

What is the definition of an exoplanet?

Any planet outside of our solar system is considered an exoplanet. The vast majority of exoplanets orbit other stars. Exoplanets in transit pass in front of, or transit, the stars they orbit as seen from Earth.

If you are one of those people who stare at the sky for a long time and ask many questions, but you do not always get an answer. This program is designed for people who are interested in astronomy and enjoy observing and writing down objects. NASA is looking for your enthusiasm for the field. The skills required to use the Expoplant program are simple. Then you will be known as an astronomer citizen. NASA launches this title for the project workers.

Do I require a telescope? to participate in the program.

No, it does not. 

All you'll need is an electronic device (phone, computer, tablet computer,...) to receive and analyze data while providing a comprehensive report on the results of your analyses.

If you believe that this work is not valuable, you are mistaken. Astronomer Citizens' reports assist NASA in answering three fundamental questions: 

Are we the only ones in the universe? 

What is the universe's working mechanism? 

And how did the universe come to be? 

Because of the massive amount of information and data received, NASA was forced to launch this program in 2018 and make it exclusive to a few people around the world, as it was establishing conditions for participation. This year, however, it made it available to everyone.
